Pangaea Earth
Geography is adapted from Scotese, C. R. & Wright, N. (2018), PALEOMAP Paleodigital Elevation Models, Map 49, about 250 million years ago, under CC BY 4.0. The one-degree elevation grid is interpolated; finer coast detail, terrain texture and land colours are artistic additions. This is a visual interpretation, rather than a complete scientific reconstruction.
Weather is adapted from the photographic Earth cloud map by Solar System Scope / INOVE, under CC BY 4.0. The cloud field is shifted in longitude, softened near the poles and thinned over land. Terrain colours draw from the same source’s Earth map. These are artistic choices, not measured ancient weather or vegetation. The homepage and film now show modern geography throughout; retained reconstruction assets are not current observations.
Earth, Saturn & the sky
Earth surface: NASA Earth Observatory, Blue Marble Next Generation, July 2004 cloud-free monthly composite. Resampled from the 21600 × 10800 base map, with a matching native crop for northeast North America. Earth cloud and night maps, Saturn and ring maps: Solar System Scope / INOVE, under CC BY 4.0. Adaptations include resampling, custom lighting, atmosphere, cloud shadows and colour grading. The close approach to northeast North America uses a native-resolution geographic crop of the same cloud composite, encoded as grayscale density for the cloud deck and its shadows. This is historical imagery, not live weather.
Milky Way panorama: ESO / S. Brunier, CC BY 4.0. Resampled and colour graded for this experience.
NASA surface imagery uses historical satellite composites, not current imagery. About the imagery · NASA image use guidelines. NASA does not endorse this website.
The room
Oak floor material: Oak Wood Planks by Dimitrios Savva / Poly Haven, released under CC0. Diffuse, surface normal and roughness maps are resized and web encoded. Furniture, layout, lighting and textile geometry are authored for the film.
Film music
Music: “Helios” by Scott Buckley — released under CC BY 4.0. www.scottbuckley.com.au. Edited to 44 seconds with a middle crossfade, fades and loudness adjustment.
Original work
The journey, rendering, camera direction and Interactiv mark are original work. The black-hole sequence takes visual reference from NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center / Jeremy Schnittman and is rendered in real time.
Modern shore outlines: Natural Earth (public domain). Retained reconstruction assets use the Scotese PaleoAtlas v3 PALEOMAP plate model, under CC BY 4.0; the current presentation holds modern geography.
The Interactiv experience
Bricolage Grotesque, Instrument Sans and Geist Mono are distributed under the SIL Open Font License. Bricolage license · Instrument Sans license · Geist Mono license.
Lighting and surface assets from Poly Haven and ambientCG are CC0. The Top Tier Builders scene is a rendered sample, shown as Interactiv work with the client's permission.
